Our senior dog, Miss Clara had a seizure on June 2026. We took her in and since this was her 1st one, they explained it could be just something she had gotten into or a fluke. Because of her age, and slightly elevated BUN levels, recommended not to put her on meds, but did send us home with Valium to give in case she had another one. They instructed us to call them if she did. Unfortunately, Clara did have another 2 seizures over the weekend in August. I took her back in and saw Dr. Avery and tech, Christian. They could not have been nicer or more compassionate to Miss Clara or myself! Dr. Avery took her time to explain all options and each medication, along with the side effects associated with each and allowed me time to process and make an informed decision on how to proceed. I was never rushed and felt each question I had was throughly answered. Unfortunately, Clara’s BUN had doubled since June, and her ALT is elevated now,, so I know her kidneys functions are worse and her liver is now affected. Dr. Avery explained that this is common in older dogs. Again, I was not pushed to make a decision to put her down, just given a complete explanation of Clara’s condition and allowed the time to make a decision on treatment. The tech, Christian, even trimmed Clara’s nails in the exam room and there was NO additional charge for this! My husband usually does this but has been sick and unable to get it done. When we went to leave, I was having a little bit of a time as I’m on a cane and Miss Clara was ready to go, so she was pulling on the leash while I was checking out. Another employee, David, happened to notice this and kindly helped me out to the car and lifted her in for me. Amazing Place and Amazing People! When the time comes, for Miss Clara to leave us, I will definitely return here! We have been patients of Animal Medical Center for several years and have always been pleased with the care. However, I have to say, Dr. Avery, Christian, and David are truly the best employees I have experienced since we’ve been coming here.

I have been a client with Animal Medical Center since 1998, and their level of care has been consistently exceptional. Over the past 28 years, they have provided outstanding medical attention and compassion for all of my pets. Dr. Heithcock is an excellent veterinarian, and David, the vet tech, is remarkable with my pug. Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication make Animal Medical Center truly outstanding.

The Vet tech incorrectly weighed our dog so the meds prescribed also had incorrect dosages. I called hoping to correct the problem but was told that I had to bring our senior puppy back to verify his weight. I explained that it was not logical that a 14 pound dog could lose half of his body weight in a 9 month period. I guess I was just frustrated that they did not consult his previous records then. It was sell, sell, sell as we were loaded up with multiple products...even after we explained in detail that he will not let us apply drops to any part of him I still ended up with eye drops.
